In the Aftermath of Orlando

The Orlando shooting this past Sunday that killed 49 people and injured many more has taken social media and the news by storm, and for good reasons. The event was certainly tragic, and as pro-lifers who respect all life from the moment of conception to natural death, we certainly are saddened and horrified about the event.

However, did you hear about the other major slaughter-fest that took place the same day? Over 3,000 lives were taken in horrific manners. Some of the victims were ripped apart limb from limb. Others had their spinal cord snipped. It took place all over the United States in facilities that the world believes are some of the most trustworthy and commendable locations for protection, health care, and support.

The sad part is that barely no one is mourning except for a few of the victims' families. Some of the other families are even supposedly happy with the murder of their family member.

But here is the sickening part: this happens every day. This happens every day, and the majority of the nation does not blink an eye. In fact, they encourage it! They clamor for more. And the many who do not support it look away, refusing to speak out for fear of being judged or hated.

This is abortion.

Friends, everyone is racing to show their support for the victims of the Orlando shooting. The entire nation is mourning and shocked at the inhumanity of the act. This is great. It means that we as a nation are still capable of feeling sorrow, compassion, and shock at injustice. But while our nation is mourning the 49 lives lost in the shooting, 3,000+ more lives will be lost in abortion just today. And tomorrow. And the day after. And our nation feels nothing.

So what should we do in this aftermath of the Orlando shooting? How can we show this injustice?

Be a voice for those who died in the shooting. Don't be afraid to speak out about the horror of the event. Share your sorrow. Show what it means to be pro-life by demonstrating that you respect ALL life, regardless of sexuality, development, ethnic origin, race, or color. That's what it means to be pro-life.

Also, pray and work even more furiously to commemorate the lives lost every day in abortion. Even if we will not be granted the same coverage by media and the news that the LGBT community receives, we can still do so much to show that we mourn 3,000+ lives every single day.

Now go show the world what it means to be pro-life! If you have any questions as to how you can help or how to discuss abortion and other pro-life issues, feel free to email us at millennials4life@gmail.com!
