The Truth About Abortion

This current political administration teaches society that it is ethical to end human life if it is deemed unwanted and inconvenient. The most corrupt political agenda to dismantle the most fundamental human right and drag down all other morals with it has taken the form in the legalization of destroying lives in the womb. The so called “right to choice” has infiltrated the nation as a deceptive lie that has numbed people’s minds to the dignity of human life. As a result, this culture has dumbed down the most fundamental gift bestowed upon man, the gift of life through pure love. This is a culture that puts pleasure and convenience above true love. Dehumanization has been prevalent in the world as a self-centered pleasure mentality reverts the human race to an animalistic level. Humans are not to be treated as animals, humans have the ability to think and reason, to contemplate, build, and learn; they are far more than just a body that has instinctual functions, they have a soul, they are able to love and feel emotion. We are made in the image and likeness of a great Artist. Each Individual human person no matter his or her size, wealth, color, or sex is endowed by our Creator with intrinsic worth and unfathomable potential.
Not everyone views human life in its fullness. Some people resort to abortion because of the convenience and quick fix it gives for people who are not ready to bring up a child. People of this generation are taught that abortion is justifiable because of the person’s: Size, level of development, environment, and degree of dependency. This is called the “SLED” acronym. All pro-abort supporter’s arguments are contained by these four points. These four arguments can be easily disputed because they are completely irrelevant and do not measure whether a life should be lived or if it should be taken away. Should it be legal for an newborn infant to be killed because they are the same size as they were a day before they were born? In some places abortion is legal up until birth, therefore following this logic abortion should be legal at birth, right? No! There is faulty logic here. Whether a person is a midget or a giant, fetus or an elder, they all should share the same human rights. The second point is the level of development; a 3-year-old cannot have an intellectual conversation; because he is not fully developed. Should his life be ended? The third example is the Environment; because the baby is inside the womb he has lost all of his rights. Is a baby a day before birth less valuable than at birth? The fourth point is degree of dependency; the argument is that the baby is dependent on the mother and therefore it is the mother’s decision if she would like to destroy that life. A 2-year-old is dependent on the mother for survival. Since a 2-year-old is greatly dependent on the mother does that give her the right to decide if the child should live or not?[i] Clearly these arguments are irrational and fall back to the sinful inclination of man that attempts to rationalize this inhumane act. The child in the womb cannot be seen, nor heard, and therefore society sees them as disposable objects.
Another argument of the pro-abortion activist is simply that the person inside the womb is not a human. The fetus is often referred to as just a ball of cells. For a human life to qualify as a life it must have the 4 following main attributes: growth, reproduction, metabolism, and response to stimuli.[ii] The unborn child grows very fast through cell division. Reproduction means the potential to reproduce. A 2-year-old cannot reproduce yet he or she is still a human being. Metabolism; from the moment of conception the cells metabolize. Metabolism is life sustaining chemical transitions. The babies inside the womb have been shown to have responses to drugs and electrical impulses. Even from the first cell, the cell is a human being and it IS growing. Fetus means “little one”, meaning that the offspring of the species in the womb is indeed a human being, deserving all rights and dignity preserved by humans.
The most vulnerable and dependent are the ones being attacked the most. The babies cannot run away; they are entirely incapable of defending themselves. Doesn’t the act of abortion become even more treacherous because the babies are completely helpless? Their level of dependency gives this generation more responsibility to protect and take care of them. Right now, no other stage of human life is being more discriminated and devalued than the life of the baby in the womb. Since Roe vs. Wade took place, over 57 million lives have been taken through abortion. In the United States alone a baby is aborted every 26 seconds. 137 every hour, 3304 every day. It is estimated that between 5 and 6 million people were killed during the holocaust. That was a very dark time in our world. The number of those killed in the holocaust is close to only 1 percent of those killed in abortion!
Every issue hinges on how we respect the dignity of human life. Euthanasia, human trafficking, rape, destruction of the family; all can be fixed. This is not a political or religious issue; this is not an issue based on personal opinion. The lives of innocents have been denied the most basic right to life. The Declaration of Independence calls this an unalienable right. There is a great issue with today’s view on human life, people need to observe the laws set forth by God instead of falling into pagan relativism. This generation was born to win in the fight against abortion. Man was created to be able to overcome obstacles no matter how high they might be. There is not a disability or disease that can stop one from living his dream. There is not a woman that is not strong enough to bear her child and take care of it. Once society starts respecting life, all other social issues can be solved.

My name is Johnny Guiher, I come from a family of 9 kids. For the past 6 years of my life I have developed a strong passion for the pro-life movement. Every generation faces evil agendas that must be resisted with the courage of great men and women. We have learned from history of the abolition of slavery, once viewed as an ordinary belief. The devaluation of a human life because of his/her color. Once owning slaves were taken for granted and now it is viewed and completely unthinkable. Today we face a threat that is perhaps greater than ever before. The most vulnerable and innocent lives in our society are being denied of the right to life. 58 million lives have been taken through abortion, this number exceeds any other genocide in our history. Today I am honored to stand at the forefront of this fight to give a voice to the voiceless inside of the womb. We will fight to end abortion and make it unthinkable. This generation will see the end of abortion and be recognized in history as the period in which the largest discrimination of human life was put to an end.
